Who is this guy?

I've been writing about the Midwest — the food, the people, the places — for more than 30 years.

I spent two decades at The Elkhart Truth as a reporter, columnist, and editor, including nearly 20 years writing a weekly food column called Dining A La King. When the paper was sold in 2016, I went freelance and kept writing.

These days I'm also director of communications for the Community Foundation of Elkhart County, where I tell stories that move people and use words to build trust.

I also write a Substack and play disc golf with more enthusiasm than skill.
